There has always been controversy about whether or not a child should play or face his books squarely. Most times, a lot of children are deprived these because parents believe the more you play games, the dumber you get. And if they are seen playing games, they would be sanctioned and asked to go and pick.

Video games have been found to be more engaging, games provide small amounts of information at relevant stages. It is traditionally considered optimal for a game to be doable but challenging enough for players to work at its completion. Because games follow this model, they create a certain degree of frustration in the player.

Students who played the video games showed better results on exams specifically subjects that involve logical thinking and calculations than compared to students who received a one-on-one coaching. The fact is that gamers are smarter because games are a learning experience too, which help to broaden our general knowledge.

Using a video game as part of class discussions, as well as including timely and engaging exercises relating the game to class material, can improve student’s performance and engagement in class. The game’s inaccuracies helps the student’s thinking faculty.

How Games can Boost Learning Activity.

People that play games, do so with their friends, what is game without involving other party after all? Boring!!! Students who are in the same classroom always involve their friends in the games only few students are seen playing alone, the fact that more students are involved in this activity, creates a team spirit and collaboration among students, making them sociable, and achieve goals in teams. Their teamwork abilities are put to test, likewise their communication and interpersonal skills and this will help improve these skills. It improves their social development and this lead to positive social behaviour, which in turn lead to high self-esteem and good relationships will be achieved.

Games Help Teachers to Teach New Technical Skills.

Video games are a powerful way to get children interested in technology from an early age and teach them basic technical skills that will be useful later as they grow up after all no knowledge is a waste. For example, the game Angry Birds will teach children basic coding principles. Video games also help to improve thinking, reasoning, memory, perception, and problem-solving which is not a waste for them and will come in handy for a wide-range of those looking to major in technical fields.

Video games are not just to transform schools but education at large. And this is obvious. Parent who has tried to discourage a child away from Solitaire, Angry Birds or Candy Crush, now are beginning to accept these with open arms. Video games clearly engage children to learn more deeply than the average class without games at school and at home.

However, despite all these, teachers, parents and children should not get carried away by this because children can get engrossed and forget the aim of learning through games. Parents should be cautious of the time allocated to children to play, they should be discouraged from playing unlimited video games and over interpretation of the can be blocked and open for use at a certain time.
